Cricket

First formed in 1990, East Drayton Cricket Club has been through several transitional periods over its history. At one point for several years the club enjoyed having both a Saturday XI playing in the Bassetlaw & District Cricket League and a Sunday XI playing in the Newark Alliance League.

East Drayton Sports Club now only has one, stronger team on a Saturday which at the end of the 2013 season was been promoted into Division 4 of the Bassetlaw & District Cricket League. In 2015 the team achieved promotion up to Division 3 of the Bassetlaw league in which it will be playing its 2016 season.

Playing on their home ground on the outskirts of East Drayton, the team has enjoyed playing for several years on one of the nicest sporting fields in the area and has recently had a new pavilion set up including hot showers.

Other facilities for the cricket team include an artificial netted wicket, catching cradle, an artificial wicket on the edge of the square, covers and sight screens.
